A Traveler's Story (2)
A Traveler's Story (2)

Though I have many memories from travels in my mind, I frequently see my paintings as being travels through paint and finding places that the paint suggests. One of my favourite formats is a vertical canvas because this parallels the journey we take going up through a landscape or wondering what is beyond the top of a hill. As a child, on long car journeys to visit relatives in Scotland and Cornwall I would wait excitedly to see what view was going to appear once we reached the top of the next hill. These are some of the thoughts in my head as I painted this textured painting which went through many changes.
