Paphos Dusk
Paphos Dusk

This series has allowed me to explore pure colour, edges and mark making while attaching those elements to an actual experience.

During my many years living in Cyprus I witnessed hundreds of sunsets. This is the moment when the various forms - basic stone buildings, Carob trees, paths - begin to fade in to the colours the sky reflects across the land. There is an actual moment when these things appear to melt and lose their identities and this is what interested me. I have played with thick and thin paint and different textures.
