Mountain-Maze
Mountain-Maze

This one has just been resolved after 4 years. I often work on older and new paintings in the same week, looking back to incorporate elements which still feel meaningful, while extending those elements in new work. This one was resolved by looking at newer work. It references one of my favourite themes, mountains, and focuses on movement through space - exploring an imaginary mountain terrain but with paint marks applied in different ways - scraped, thick paint, thick paint, knife marks, calligraphic marks, etc.
Acrylic, oil and gesso on hardboard,
65 x 48 cm
