Lost Paradise: Tears For Burrswood
Lost Paradise: Tears For Burrswood

This evolved from my deep feelings about a wonderful place in Kent which I have known for many years and used to paint at every week in all seasons over 8 years. It comprised forests, fields, lakes, areas of wild flowers and wild orchids, old buildings and a church. It used to be a healing centre then became a well being centre and the views from the terraces are incredible. I know every path, every rock, every tree there. Sadly it has gone in to receivership so now the imagery will be in my memories.

The many elements of landscape gleaned during my years painting outdoors there have filtered through to my more abstract works.

I made many changes to this painting in trying to convey my many walks and to create a composite of scenes. I may extend the imagery on another canvas.
