Waterfalls of Colour
Waterfalls of Colour

This has been painted to a brief for an exhibition in Beijing later this year. Last August, as a participant at the 8th Beijing International Art Biennale I was one of 30 artists taken out of Beijing into the landscape to sketch. This is a composite of memories of being near the mountains, living at the Great Wall in 2016 (photos in my 2016 Great Wall residency album) and my feelings that China is like a waterfall of colours. I have also alluded to the modern aspects of China by including blocks of flats.
