Night Gathering
Night Gathering

My neighbourhood used to be full of people walking and meeting up at night but now the streets are empty due to the restrictions. The only time I am aware of people living nearby is during the Thursday evening clapping for keyworkers at 8pm when people stand outside their homes to clap. I painted this as a memory of night scenes. It actually began as an abstract but figures crept in!
It was painted as part of the 30 works 30 days challenge organized by 12ocollective (www.12ocollective.com) and which has over 1000 artists from 42 countries participating during the month of April. On Day 21 I was one of 6 artists to be profiled on their Instagram page with this particular painting.
