Falling House of Cards
Falling House of Cards

This is one of my longest running paintings, possibly on the go for 8 or 9 years.
The theme is the fragility of life and how anyone's life can change in seconds. Our man-made structures and situations have very little security and I have interpreted this as houses of cards with one falling in to a river. This painting changed considerably over the years. The main elements that changed were colours but the shapes were also moved around, erased, colours altered, and the cards also changed their colours and markings.
Oil, oil bar and acrylic on board
