Our hotel, the Park Latgola
Our hotel, the Park Latgola

We stayed at a wonderful hotel called the Park Latgola hotel, in the centre of Daugavpils. This photo is taken from the 10th floor restaurant, where we had all our meals. There was a panoramic view all around, seen through glass walls. I loved the views across the flat, autumnal land, and the many different types of churches that could be seen on all sides.

Our meals gave us the chance to sample Latvian cuisine. Breakfast consisted of the full array of cooked foods (eggs, sausages, bacon, porridge, mushrooms, macaroni dishes, egg dishes, savoury dishes), along with toast, jam, cereals, fruits, and coffee and tea, and juices. You could eat as much as you wanted!
